Product description

MotoArt's newest plane has arrived! Celebrate the U.S. Coast Guard's Falcon - the Dassault HU-25 Guardian. The Guardian played a critical role in saving lives at sea in search and rescue missions, and protecting the nation's maritime interests. We are thrilled to bring you number 2115, a HU-25A.

Guardian number 2115 was constructed and delivered to the United States Coast Guard in 1983. 2115 served with Coast Guard Air Stations San Diego and Cape Cod before retiring in 2001. Its missions included search and rescue operations, maritime surveillance, and law enforcement. With a range of up to 2,000 nautical miles and the ability to stay airborne for up to six hours, it was well-suited for conducting long-range patrols over vast ocean waters. Equipped with a variety of sensors - including radar, infrared cameras, and other advanced avionics -  the Guardian had the ability to locate and track vessels in all types of weather conditions. The Guardian was also used to enforce U.S. laws and treaties, such as interdiction of drug shipments and illegal immigration.

OUR PLANE'S STORY

The HU-25 Guardian was developed during the 1970s, first as a business jet, by French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation. The twin-engine, medium-range fixed wing aircraft design of the Dassault Falcon 20 was modified with a nose radome which housed advanced radar and sensors, and specialized equipment to enhance its search and rescue capabilities, such as a rescue hoist and high performance maritime surveillance systems. Dassault was awarded a USCG contract in 1981 and the Guardian first entered service in 1982. 41 Falcon-based Guardians were procured by the USCG; the last retired in 2014 after 32 years of service.

#2115 landed in Arizona in 2014, and joined the fleet at Pima Air & Space Museum. In 2023 MotoArt acquired material from this aircraft to create HU-25 Guardian PlaneTags. Don't miss this moment in history - add a Dassault HU-25A Guardian to your PlaneTags collection today.
