Product description

Shortly after the establishment of the state, a small piece of Czechoslovakia between the villages of Letnany, Kbely and Sakovice became a magical triangle of the tumultuous development of our aviatism. Several airlines and two factory airports were established here, and the vast majority of Czechoslovak aircraft were born or flown here. Many design personalities also came from here, who influenced the development and construction of aircraft in our country for six decades. Under the emblems of Letov, Avia, Aero, Praga and VZLÚ, dozens of types of aircraft took off from here for the first time, serving the army, civil transport and sport flying.
However, the aeroclub is an inseparable part of Let?any. Its pilots at ?akovice and especially Let?any Airport have been flying very intensively on gliders, motor planes, helicopters at the time, and parachutists have also been involved in their sport here. Therefore, a large part of the book also belongs to the history of the aeroclub, which is a continuation of the rich Let?any aviation tradition. The tradition, which is described in the book for the period from 1945 to 1975. The author Bohumil Rosi?ka worked in Let?any for many years, learned to fly there and gained valuable foundations and experience for the future pilot profession from several excellent instructors. Unfortunately, he did not live to see the book, because on August 11, 2018, his rich aviation life was prematurely ended by a plane crash with the historic Be-50 Beta Minor aircraft.

165 x 235 mm, 224 pages, hardcover, 220 color photographs
