Product description

Great picture books of the history of the Lockheed L10 Electra.

The Lockheed L-10 Electra is one of the key types of airliners that caused a real revolution in air transport in the mid-1930s. They have contributed to the fact that we consider air travel to be quite common today. In addition, Electra also left a Czech mark: it was precisely this machine (more precisely, two machines) in which Jan Antonín Ba?a, a manufacturer and promoter of aviation, traveled the world on a trade route. One of his fate-controlled aircraft has been preserved in the United States, where years ago a group of Czech enthusiasts and experts discovered it, recently acquired it, renovated it to its original form and flew with it to the Czech Republic in May 2015.

Written by leading experts on the subject, the book is perhaps the first time in the world that tells the story of Electra in all its contexts: the history of the aircraft, its fate with airlines on different continents, a short but significant episode in military service and of all kinds. There is also a description of the technical parameters of the machine and a unique table, documenting in detail the fate of each individual manufactured aircraft. Special chapters are then devoted to the fate of Electra in Ba?a's services and the recent history of purchasing, repairing and flying the OK-CTB machine from the United States to To?ná Airport, where it is now on display as a unique flying exhibit. The explanation is complemented by a number of period photographs, technical drawings, current pictures of preserved machines and beautiful shots from the flight of the renovated Ba?a's Electra.

Unfortunately in Czech but the great pictures realy make up for this.
