Product description

Vehicles of South African Defence Forces between 1961 and 1975 mostly wore overall BS Olive Drab livery, except for the ones stationed in Walvis Bay, Namibia, which were painted overall BS Light Stone (this continued till their withdrawal in 1994). The same colour was used on Centurion tanks and Saracen APCs of Middle East Defence Organisation (MEDO) units, which South Africa briefly formed part of. In the Bush War era (1975-94) BS Dark Earth became a standard SADF colour. After transformation to South African National Defence Force in 1994, the new 3-colour camouflage of Military Dark Earth, MRG Stone and Buffalo Green was introduced to AFVs. It is also used on selected helicopters (incl. Rooivalk and Agusta A109), with different brown colour.

HTK-AS92 includes standard colours of South African military vehicles in post-WW2 period. The set contains:

HTK-A236 ? BS Olive Green - BS381C:220, standard colour of Union Defence Force vehicles (also known as UDF Olive Green 16) till 1961

HTK-A146 ? BS Olive Drab ? BS381C:298, standard colour of armoured vehicles of South African Defence Forces from 1961 till 1975

HTK-A237 ? BS Light Stone ? BS381C:361, standard colour of SADF vehicles stationed in Walvis Bay, Namibia and vehicles detached to MEDO

HTK-A206 ? BS Dark Earth ? BS381C:450, standard colour of armoured vehicles of SADF from 1975 till 1994. Later on auxiliary vehicles

HTK-A252 ? Military Dark Earth - Post-1994 standard camouflage colour of SANDF primary (A-class) armoured vehicles (incl. Rooikat and Olifant)

HTK-A253 ? MRG Stone - Post-1994 camouflage colour of SANDF AFVs (incl. Rooikat and Olifant) and helicopters (incl. Rooivalk)

HTK-A254 ? Buffalo Green - Post-1994 camouflage colour of SANDF AFVs (incl. Rooikat and Olifant) and helicopters (incl. Rooivalk)

HTK-A308 ? BS Middle Brown - The best match for camouflage colour of South African Air Force helicopters (incl. Rooivalk and Agusta A109)
