Gilze-Rijen 2005 Air show DVD was shot during one of the most exciting Air shows ever presented to the public. 100.000 spectators attended this unique Air show on Friday the 17th of June, and on Saturday the 18th of June 275.000 spectators visited the event. On the 18th of June the weather was clear and bright with temperatures exceeding the 30 degrees Celsius. The Air show was professional and was with time and while even emotional. History and future flew through the air on the airbase of Gilze-Rijen near Breda. A C-130J of the Royal Air Force, F-16's and Tornado's and a Spitfire and Lancaster of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight were continuously busy to amuse the public with their acrobatic turns. The Red Arrows stole the show with their excellent flying arts, sometimes they flew with a separating distance of only two meters.

The Dutch papers of Monday the 20th of June were full of the Open days in Gilze-Rijen and it was not clear why almost 100,000 visitors more than last year visited this years Gilze-Rijen Air show.

The Dutch Air shows are an annual famous aviation event and one of the world’s most prestigious and exciting Air show. This DVD of Aviationvideo brings you the action of Saturday the 18th of June 2005.

Highlights included:

RNLAF F-16AM performing a wonderful demonstration during the Open days.

Airpower demonstration which included airfield attacks with F-16 and Apaches, and unloading of vehicles by Cougar helicopters and a tactical landing by the C-130, air-to-air refuelling demo, mass formation flypasts of all helicopters and aircraft which took part in the airpower demo, and the takeoff of the C-130 Hercules.

Display of the Dutch Apache. Very maneuverable chopper. Lots of rolls, loops & flares!
