Su-25 Frogfoot. Thirty years in action. Part I: In the Armed Forces of the USSR 1981-1991

Military service of the aircraft Su-25 (which known by callsigns "frogfoot" and "rook") is described in the book. In April of 2011 was celebration of the 30th anniversary since the moment when the first batch production aircraft were delivered to the Soviet Army. Much attention is paid to the operations of "rook" in Afghanistan and aspects of the technical development of the aircraft. The book contains many unique photos, relevant chronology of events. In the book are 400 pages of text and tables and 667 images (all main photos with description in English). Tables are given to the structure of combat divisions and lists of Su-25 aircraft (totally about 600 serial numbers), also the list of accidents and combat losses in Afghanistan. In the appendix are given full and authentic camouflage paint schemes (only combat aircraft of the Soviet period) in three projections for scale modeling. In total there are 29 kinds with history of the origin and significance of the emblems on the fuselages of the Su-25.
