This volume complements the even larger British Post-War Airliners: An A to Z of UK Aircraft 1945-2000. Pitched somewhere between diatribe, melancholy, jubilation and celebration the author treads one of his favourite themes namely a British industry endlessly innovative for decades with a present-day dominated by the Americans, It's a typical British story of inept government meddling and misunderstanding, missed opportunities and glorious failure although this isn't quite the whole story (far from it this is just a blurb and the book is 172 pages long and its companion volume another 256) and we still have some success stories like the Britten-Islander.
