Product description

Yakovlev's Yak-11 continuation training aircraft and its Czechoslovak licensed twin Let C-11 are certainly not an unknown concept for those interested in the history of the Czechoslovak military air force. In the second half of the 1950s, it formed a significant part of the material equipment of school units, but even before that it had found its place in the composition of combat regiments. In the process of post-war construction of the renewed Czechoslovak military air force, since 1945, emphasis was placed on ensuring the necessary numbers of trained personnel of all specialties, primarily pilots, of course. These numbers resulted from the final peacetime organization of the air force, approved in January 1946, which assumed the establishment of eight air divisions of three air regiments each within a 10-15 year horizon, four of which were to be fighter divisions. Pilot training was organized in three stages in the form of elementary, continuation and combat training. In elementary training, the pilot student was to learn the basics of controlling an airplane (taxiing, takeoff, landing, climb and descent, crashes, turns, spins, flying without vision and at night, combat maneuvers, navigation and group flights, at first with a flight instructor, then independently, on a lighter and less powerful airplane, which in our case were the C-4/104 and C-6/106 types. For advanced training, a heavier and more powerful airplane was used, approaching in its characteristics a combat airplane, which in our case was the trophy Arado Ar 96C-2. The student was to use it to prepare for the transition to a combat airplane, and to roughly the same range of tasks, shooting and bombing training was added. The successor to the Arado Ar 96C-2 was to be the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-11 trainer airplane, designated Let C-11 in our case. As early as August 1952, A prototype aircraft was delivered to Kunovice, followed by the airframe production documentation at the end of November 1952. The production documentation for the AŠ-21 engine arrived in January 1953.   Aero      No. 134 describes in detail the production and service of this aircraft in the Czechoslovak Air Force.

The publication has A4 format, full-color on high-quality coated paper, V2 binding, 52 pages, a number of photos, color side views.
