FRENCH LANGUAGE BOOK: Following numerous discoveries over recent years on the Morane 406 which have made a new publication essential. The sheer size of this study, which is devoted solely to the French-painted aircraft, is proof of this. The list of contributors also illustrates the enthusiasm the project has generated, with each contributing photos or documents to ensure it is as comprehensive as possible.
Developed in the specific context of the second half of the 1930s, this aircraft featured numerous innovations, to the point that it can be considered a pioneer. Its development, though very lengthy, has been detailed thanks to the discovery of previously unknown reports. Unthinkable until recently, the Air Force archives and documents obtained from pilots have made it possible to recount virtually all the missions from May 10 to June 25, 1940. With these contributions, we hope that this two-volume work will delight both those passionate about technology and those more interested in operational activities. Sometimes coming from unexpected sources, all these discoveries have confirmed what was already evident: there is still much to be found.
