Product description

From small beginnings in California, North American Aviation (NAA) grew to operate enormous production lines in Ohio, Texas and Kansas.

NAA created some of the most iconic warplanes of the 20th century, including the P-51 Mustang, B-25 Mitchell and F-86 Sabre, and trainers such as the T-6 Texan, T-28 Trojan and T-2 Buckeye.

In the post-war years, NAA advanced aerospace technology with the Mach 3 X-15 and XB-70 bomber. Successor North American Rockwell built the B-1 bomber and the Space Shuttle before the company was eventually absorbed into Boeing.

North American Aviation, no 86 in the Aviation Archive series, tells the story of North American and Rockwell with the help of detailed cutaway illustrations, colourful profile illustrations and many archive photographs.
