I Colori degli aerei Italiani della Grande Guerra.

This is the first publication in Italy dedicated solely to the colors of our military aircraft of the years 1915-1918. There are eighty schemes, each featured in color and consisting of top view, lower view, and one or two profiles for each plane. The subtitle "Assumptions and Certainties" indicates that the matter is not unfortunately well-known but the studies and restorations of the last few years have provided many assurances, but as far as they are concerned, the most reliable and probable reconstructions have been used .
It begins with the aircraft that came into service in 1914, virtually free of paint, then passed to the first colors, the first weathering applied in the field and, finally, the polychrome patterns inspired by the French ones. In order to try to give more defined outlines to the topic, otherwise vastly, it was decided to subdivide the four years in which the Italian mimetics have evolved, in four main periods, eight basic patterns and over twenty undergrowths.
The work is aimed at modelers but also scholars and historians will find no other ideas for further insights. One of the purposes of the volume is just to stimulate other research on a subject where color photographs are non-existent and the documentation is scarce.
The author is an airplane restorer and a passionate athlete of Italian aeronautical coloration, and has several books on aeronautical history, with particular reference to existing Italian aircraft and relics. He collaborates with the Modeling Trentino Group for which he has produced articles and research published on the "Model Newspaper" of G.M.T
