OUR PLANE'S STORY
C-GTWS was built as a Boeing 737-700 and was delivered to WestJet in July 2002. At this time in the airline's history, WestJet employed 3,100 and flew over 5.8 million travelers throughout its 21 Western Canadian destinations. By the time C-GTWS retired in April 2020, the airline offered service in 100 destinations in North America, Central America, Europe, and the Caribbean but passengers dropped from 26 million in 2019 to just 8 million in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
