Keychain made of: Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum '32 Blue' Kyrgyzstan Air Force

Built under serial number 2960507662, 32 Blue began its service with the Kyrgyzstan Air Force in the early 1990s. Distinguished by its ventral fins beneath each tailplane, a feature found only on the earliest Fulcrums, this aircraft represents the first generation of the Soviet Union’s legendary 4th-generation fighters.

As Kyrgyzstan downsized its MiG fleet, 32 Blue was sold to Air USA, founded by Don Kirlin of Quincy, Illinois. Transported aboard an Antonov An-124 to Estonia and later seized in transit, the jet finally arrived in the U.S. in 1999. Registered N6394K, it was stored at Quincy Regional Airport, where it became one of the first privately owned MiG-29s in America.

In collaboration with Don Kirlin, MotoArt’s team traveled to Quincy to recover authentic material from 32 Blue. Each panel was carefully documented and cut before being brought back to our Torrance, California workshop. The result: a new PlaneTags release that embodies the craftsmanship, engineering, and intrigue of Cold War aviation.
