The monograph deals with the birth and development of the SIAI S.208, starting from the civil version S.205. In the Italian Air Force the S.208M, in addition to being used at the Gliding Flight Center for towing gliders, was for many years one of the pillars of the Liason Squadrons. Today, all the S.208M are concentrated in the 60th Wing and, in addition to the task of towing gliders, they carry out many other missions all of extreme importance for the Armed Force. Last but not least, its fundamental role as flying asset for the Aeronautical Culture Courses. The monograph is accompanied by an important iconography that collects photographs of all of S.208M in all units where they have served as well as two stories of a S.208M military pilot who share with us his tales in the skies of northern Italy in two operational missions.
