Supersonic -The Dream Reignited

Ever since the Wright Brothers first took to the air, engineers have dreamed of flying airliners faster than the speed of sound, a race that gained momentum in November 1962 when the British and French governments signed a treaty to jointly develop Concorde.

 

While Concorde has retired, Supersonic looks into what is happening today, the aircraft and engines under development, the regulatory framework, environmental concerns and where a new supersonic aircraft will have an impact.

 

It also delves into the history of supersonic flight and the lessons learned from developing and operating Concorde that are shaping the future at OEMs including Boom, Comac, GE, Boeing, NASA, Lockheed Martin and China's Mach-4 Cuantianhou (Soaring Monkey) scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2026.
