The operational story of the last biplane fighter of the Argentine Army Aviation,the Curtiss Hawk III, wich was an export model of the USN BF2C. It was an interim fighter, wich lasted in service up to 1946 as trainers. The Argentine Army also operated the only Curtiss Hawk IV, the last Curtiss biplane fighter.
The replacement aircraft was the Curtiss H75-O Hawk, a fixed landing gear version of the P-36. It was built under license in Argentina during 1940-1941.The Curtiss 75 fighter remained in service with the Argentine Air Force during the early ´50s.
