This is a book about the history of the Hawker Hurricane flown by Romania during the pre-war period and during Operation Barbarossa.
The book is bilingual Romanian-English and contains a wealth of photographs and information about the Hawker Hurricane and the very successful Escadrila 53 Vanatoare. By the end of Operation Barbarossa, the pilots flying Romanian Huricanes tallied the first aerial victory, the first ace, the highest number of aerial victories of any unit and the highest number of aces of any unit with only one aircraft lost in air combat. The book contains many previously unpublished photos that can serve as inspiration to modellers.
This book is the first volume of a series of books called "Illustrated History of Romanian Aviation" that aims to illustrate and describe the aircraft used by Romania.
