Product description

The post-war Czechoslovak aviation industry developed a number of aircraft, some of which are almost forgotten. However, there are also types with which our designers have permanently entered the world history of aviation. Although there are not as many of them as we sometimes try to convince ourselves, however, in any case we must definitely include an all-metal two-seater glider L-13 Blaník.
This created a product that they know in many parts of the world, without often knowing where the earth in which he saw the light of the world lies. In the airspace of more than forty states on all continents (perhaps outside the Arctic), it was and still is possible to meet these still elegant metal apparatuses, whose purpose is to teach adepts this almost noiseless way of flying.
Its silhouette in the sky is so typical today that even the greatest beginner of this beautiful sport will recognize it. Therefore, the unmistakable silhouette of Blaník is also a full part of the logo of the Aeroclub of the Czech Republic.
While other similar gliders were produced and are produced in series in the order of hundreds of pieces, Blaník reached a number exceeding half of the third thousand, despite the fact that he was an unwanted child at a certain period of his production.
If everything was to be written about the L-13 Blaník glider, we would have to wait until the last of the almost three thousand pieces landed for the last time and, after stopping, put the end of the wing on the ground. As it looks, we would probably have to wait a long time for this moment. Let us be content with what is known during the first more than sixty years of its existence.
For various reasons, a book can never contain everything that the author imagines could be there. Nevertheless, Albert Orlita organized an inexhaustible amount of factual data on the pages of a book called His Majesty Blaník. This rightly makes it a unique, hard-to-beat and comprehensive work on the world-famous Czechoslovak glider.

Although in Czech the many pictures on the Blanik and the unreal variation of this glider like the plans to turn it into a submarine.... makes it still interesting
