This very comprehensive title covers the full operational history of the Royal Canadian Air Force's 430 Squadron, from the heady days of the Second World War flying Tomahawks, Mustangs and Spitfires up until the current Bell CH-146 Griffon Helicopter.  In between 430 Squadron flew Canadair Sabres and CF-104 Starfighters in Europe in support of NATO in the 1950s and 60s. In 1971 430 Squadron reformed with Tactical helicopters in support of the Canadian Army with Bell CH-136 Kiowas and CH-135 Twin Hueys, based at CFB Valcartier. Quebec, where it is still based today. it converted to the CH-146 Griffon in 1995, and it has supported many of Canada's recent overseas war efforts including Bosnia, Haiti, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
