Vee`s For Victory! Story Allison V-1710 A/c Engine 1929-48

Over 60 per cent of the US fighters flown during the Second World War were powered by the Allison V-1710 engine. The author recounts its up and down career from Curtiss XP-37, through to XP-58 and GM XP-75. In between are all the major fighters that utilised the powerplant - the P-38, P-39, lightweight XP-46A and XP-47, as well as the early P-51 Mustangs.
