0.2 -Ma-4.0. 50 years of High speed wind tunnel testing in the Netherlands

Very few books have ever been written about windtunnels and their importance in aviation.
The Dutch DNW-HST (High-Speed Tunnel) has been in operation for 50 years on 16 January 2010. The rich history of this transonic wind tunnel includes tests on aircraft such as the Caravelle, Concorde, Fokker F28, F-16 and JSF. The focus of this book is on the foundation of the wind tunnel and the constant cycle of improvement that has taken place since then. Why was the wind tunnel built in the first place and how does the vision of that time compare with the historical time-line? The constant cycle of improvement has led to several changes in the wind tunnel design and the applied simulation and measurement techniques.
