Boeing 747-200 (KLM) (LAST Ones! End of an era!!!!!)

On the 15th of March 2021 the last of many KLM Boeing 747's left the fleet. End of an era.... the grand old lady graced our skies for almost 50 years!

When in 1969 the KLM ordered her first Boeing 747 Jumbo jets the US modelbrand Aurora released a model for that occasion including KLM decals as well as the KLM 50 years brochure and the 'Flying Dutchman" pamphlet

Unfortunately these Jumbo's were delivered in 1971 in the new KLM livery with the white tail and never flew in this striped livery causing these kits quickly to disappear into storage. 

However we managed to find some of these kits, now over 50 years old. They are complete kits in mint good condition. These kits were found in an old dark storage space were they were lying since 1969 never seeing daylight nor the gluetube!!!

They were still in their distribution box and are as new!  

These are probably the very last kits of this special edition 
Please niote that with some the decals and instruction stuck a bit together
