State of the art kit.
The Mitsubishi F-1 is Japan's first domestically developed and built supersonic military jet. The F-1 started its development in 1977 and a total of 77 F-1s were built. The jet fighter protected Japanese air for 30 years, and was retired from service in 2006.
At the TAC MEET 1996, camouflage was painted on the 6th Squadron F-1s to correspond to the maritime flight in the anti-ship attack competition. The normal color scheme for the F-1 was dark/light green and dark yellow camouflage. It was changed from the dark yellow to dark green. The rising-sun mark was painted in overspray with white border to increase camouflage effectiveness. The letters (Kanji) "?(Sword)"?"??(Heaven's Justice)"?"??(Definitely Shoot Down)"?"??(Restoration)"?"??(Commando)" were added on the rudder of each aircraft.
