Product description

Category Aircraft Scale Modelling, Subcategory Aircraft Scale Modelling, Scale 1 : 144, ISBN/Box MKM14458, Publisher/Brand Mark1, Version injection

The MiG-19P was the first variant of the MiG-19 radar-equipped interceptors, which was developed in parallel with the MiG-19S clear-weather fighter in the early 1950s. It was also used for limited close air support and fighter-bomber roles, mounting two cannons and carrying unguided missiles or bombs. It was a single-seat, all-metal monoplane powered by two Mikulin RD-9B turbojets.
The MiG-19Ps were assigned to Soviet Air Force VVS, PVO and naval units and outside the USSR, within the Warsaw Pact, the largest user of the MiG-19P interceptor was Czechoslovakia, receiving a total of 27 aircraft in 1957. The Polish Air Force acquired a total of 24 'P' models in 1957-58.
Colour schemes included in the kit:
1) MiG-19P Farmer B, Red 61, 82 & 39, PVO Guards Unit, VVS USSR (Soviet Air Force), unknown air base, early 1960s
2) MiG-19P Farmer B, Black 0740 (c/n 620740), 0812 (c/n 620812) & 0813 (c/n 620813), 11th Fighter Regiment (11. slp), Czechoslovak Air Force (vojenské letectvo CSLA), Žatec Air Base, summer 1958
