Engineer by every fiber, Louis Breguet turns away after 1905 electrical construction to launch in aeronautics. First he gropes in rotary wing and then focuses on the architecture biplane with moderate success. This book presents the beginnings and structure of its production, which is at No. 150 in 1914 to the declaration of war. Its aircraft engine simple star, wheezing, or rotary double star, unreliable, lack the support of the Army. Restored thanks to the Michelin brothers, then to Type XIV realized with Marcel Vullierme it continues its momentum after war with Type XIX and 27, but if the fame and the honors' the plan in the foreground, its permanent objective of developing the Air transport is only partially achieved. All types of devices known until about 1933, including some nanards are presented with photos and 3-views in the same spirit as in an earlier volume devoted to aircraft Morane-Saulnier.
About 750 photos and maps of 350 pages.
