Antonov 10 "Ukraine" airborne U-1957 (blue stripe) First flight prototype
Produced in February 1957, it had 4 NK-4 engines. The symbolic registration number USSR-U1957 was applied to the aircraft. Had a proper name "Ukraine". On March 7, 1957, it made its first flight (It was transferred to factory tests. In August 1957, it was demonstrated to the Minister of Defense of India and the King of Afghanistan, Mohammed Zahir Shah, at the Kubinka airport. Until June 25, 1958, it underwent factory tests (carried out 80 flights, with a total duration of 95 hours 38 minutes). During testing, the aircraft was based at the Zhulyany airport. From July 28 to September 30, 1958, a special program was carried out on the aircraft to determine the behavior of the aircraft at high angles of attack and other extreme flight conditions, as well as in emergency situations ( engine failure during takeoff or landing, flight with two operating engines in different configurations, landing with flaps retracted, etc.) The program included 46 flights with a total duration of 43 hours and 30 minutes.
