The Mirage IIIC is a detailed model of one of the most iconic combat aircraft of the 20th century. Its dynamic silhouette, delta wings, realistic armament and numerous movable parts make this set the perfect combination of block building and learning the history of modern military aviation!
Built for combat!
The Dassault Mirage IIIC was the first mass-produced variant of the legendary Dassault Mirage III family. This single-seat, single-engine delta jet fighter, designed in France at Dassault Aviation, achieved supersonic speeds and was adapted for high-altitude combat. It first flew on October 9, 1960.
During development, its purpose was changed. The fighter was transformed from an interceptor to a multi-role fighter, eliminating the rocket booster and introducing fixed armament: two 30 mm DEFA 552 cannons (125 rounds each), two AIM-9 missiles under the wings and one Matra R530 missile under the fuselage.
Powered by the Atar 9B-3 engine, the aircraft quickly gained worldwide recognition and entered the service of many air forces. It was also manufactured under license in Belgium, Switzerland and Australia, while Israel and South Africa developed their own, extensively modified versions. A total of approximately 95 units were produced, remaining in service until the late 1980s.
