Detail & Scale is pleased to announce the release of our newest publication, "ATTACK AIRCRAFT OF THE U. S. NAVY AND MARINE CORPS."
During the final years of World War II, the Navy began to combine the missions and capabilities of the scout/dive bomber and the torpedo bomber into a single aircraft that was originally designated BT. Among the early types were the Martin BTM Mauler and the Douglas BT2D Skyraider. But as the new type of aircraft began to enter the inventory, the Navy renamed the category as attack aircraft, and the designation was changed to A. The Mauler became the AM, and the Skyraider became the AD. Many more aircraft with the A designation would follow.
This book covers every attack aircraft that was designed for use by the Navy and Marines. Fourteen different types of aircraft are included. Photos of every variant and sub variant of each type are included to supplement an informative text.
