This book is a thoroughly illustrated summary of the Finnish Air Force's flying units and aircraft since its creation in 1918. This book also focuses on the flying operations and flight safety as well as the contribution of domestic aircraft industry in the acquisition and maintenance of aircraft.
Lieutenant Colonel (E) Jyrki Laukkanen, the author of this book, was fascinated with flying already as a school boy in the 1950s. He served in the Ilmavoimat in 1966?2002, of which 35 years as a fighter and test pilot logging almost 10 000 flight hours.
