The publication provides a systematic and at the same time unique overview of the use of Illyushin Il-2 fighters outside the Soviet Air Force. The focus of the work is the deployment of these aircraft in the Polish, Czechoslovak and Yugoslav Air Force, starting with the organization and training to combat use during World War II and after. The history of post-war service is always led to the definitive elimination of the type in the country. There is a brief mention of peacekeeping in the Bulgarian and Mongolian Air Force. The bonus is information on tests of captured aircraft in the German Luftwaffe, Magyar Királyi Honvéd Legierö and in the Finnish Ilmavoimat. The text is supplemented by one hundred photographs and eight color drawings.
Please note, pictures are tantalising interesting indeed but a bit small and note of the highest printing quality.
