Mirage 2000-5F n°70 2-FD in "Low viz" EC 2/2 "Côte d'Or"

• In 1991, at the end of the Gulf War, a Dassault Mirage 2000 was selected to test a new camouflage based on American colours (F.S: Federal Standard). It was on No.70 (coded 5-OA at the time) that this experimental camouflage was applied, although the safety markings remained in their standard colours. The aircraft then continued its career wearing these colours.
• Later, the aircraft was upgraded to the Mirage 2000-5F standard, the nose as well as the radar section were changed (standard colours), and the aircraft then flew with EC2/2 “Côte d'Or” (becoming 2-FD) while still retaining the US-inspired tones, with the nose outline in standard blue-grey and high-visibility markings. (options available : Syhart 922)
• In 2000, while EC2/2 was preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary, two aircraft were specially painted:
  
  1. - the Mirage 2000-5F n°66 2-FN in “High Visibility” scheme (future release: Syhart 158)
  2. - the Mirage 2000-5F n°70 2-FD in “Low Visibility” scheme retained its US camouflage, the standard blue-grey area above the nose was overpainted with a darker grey (the same used on the Dassault Mirage 2000D), and all markings were painted in grey in a “Low viz” style, including the roundels.
  
  
• The aircraft was eventually repainted in the standard grey/blue scheme, and later served with EC 5/330 “Côte d’Argent” and EC 1/2 “Cigognes”. It was lost in 2014 without causing any casualties.
