The BMPT Terminator is a modern Russian tank support combat vehicle. The first prototypes of the car were developed in the late 1990s, and small series production started in 2006 and is still going on with some breaks. The BMPT Terminator was created on the basis of the experience gained by the Russian army from the Chechen wars, and its main task is to eliminate manpower near its own operating tanks and its own infantry. This task determined the armament of the vehicle and its best possible armor with the use of reactive armor elements. The chassis of the T-72 tank was used to shorten the time of analytical and implementation works, as well as to facilitate subsequent operation. In addition, the BMPT Terminator has been equipped with a relatively modern fire control system and observation devices. The BMPT Terminator was most likely used in combat during the Syrian civil war that has been going on since 2011. Currently, vehicles of this type are in use in Russia and Kazakhstan, and Algeria is also the expected user.
