Your reliable Aircraft Modelling Source since 1989
The Mansyū Ki-116 was an aircraft from the end of World War II, developed for the Japanese Army Air Force. The development was entrusted to the Mansyū Aircraft company in Manchuria, which is why the aircraft is referred to as the Mansyū Ki-116
Originally it was a Ki-84, modified to accommodate the 1,500 hp Ha-112-II engine, which powered a three-bladed propeller taken from the Mitsubishi Ki-46-III Dinah. At the time of Japan's defeat, the aircraft was still undergoing tests. In 1945, one example was produced at the Manshūkoku Hikōki Seizo KK plant in Harbin. Due to the rapid advance of the Soviet troops, it was decided to destroy all prototypes and all available documentation.
