Product description

Sprue with extra parts for this particular version included

This Fine Molds F-4F Phantom II kit depicts the Luftwaffe fighter variant operated by Jagdgeschwader 71 “Richthofen”. Produced in 1/72 scale, the model focuses on accurate proportions, crisp surface detail, and refined tooling, resulting in a clean and well balanced representation of this iconic Cold War fighter.

The F-4F was a specialised version of the Phantom developed for West German service, optimised for air defence duties. Although based on the earlier F-4E, the F-4F featured a simplified configuration tailored to Luftwaffe requirements. Fine Molds captures the distinctive Phantom airframe effectively, from the broad fuselage to the characteristic anhedral tailplanes.

JG71 “Richthofen” is one of the most recognisable fighter units in German aviation history, and its aircraft are closely associated with disciplined markings and operational service throughout the Cold War period. This kit offers a strong foundation for an authentic Luftwaffe Phantom build.

  • 1/72 scale plastic model kit
  • F-4F Phantom II Luftwaffe fighter variant
  • Markings for JG71 “Richthofen”
  • Fine recessed panel lines and accurate external shape
  • Clear canopy parts and detailed cockpit components

This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

The McDonnell Douglas Phantom II served as a cornerstone of NATO air power during the Cold War, and in German service the F-4F became a vital element of national air defence. Operated by units such as JG71, the aircraft remained in frontline use for decades, earning a reputation for reliability, power, and unmistakable presence in the skies of Europe.
