Product description
In the early 1950s the need arose for a new towing vehicle in the Swedish Air Force. The new generation of jet aircraft requires a truck that could handle heavier aircraft than the Dodge trucks used so far. The vehicle was designated Startbil 953 and developed by Volvo as TL11. Many parts are shared with Raptgb 915 "Sow". The first Stb 953 was delivered to F4 in April 1954, and a total of 100 units were built.
Used for instance for SAAB 29 Tunnan, J35 Draken and J34 Hawker Hunter
