Product description

This very colourful livery on our De Havilland Puss Moth represents the aircraft as used by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1931. Decorated in bright blue, red and light grey, the aircraft lettering G-ABBS is printed on the upper and under wings and also along the fuselage. The fine wing struts and wheel hubs are painted bright red and a black finish is given to tyres, cockpit interior and tail skids. The two/three-seater passenger high wing monoplane, designed and built by De Havilland between 1929 and 1933, was a particular favourite with the flourishing rich and famous private plane market in the UK. Because of its speed of around 124 mph and performance, it was also a favourite aircraft for pilots taking part in air races, including the famous Amy Johnson, whose Puss Moth ?Jason II' is already in the Oxford Aviation range.
