F4E Phantom II Late

The later version of the F-4E, an improved version of the F-4D, is finally available, equipped with the M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon as the first fixed equipment in the extended nose.
The leading edge flap was changed to a movable slat in order to further improve air combat performance than the previous model, which adopted a hard wing with a fixed leading edge flap. This is a point that distinguishes it from the earlier model in appearance.
A gunblast diffuser has been added to the machine gun muzzle. Other, later versions had AN/ALR-46 RHWR antennas attached to the wing tips.
Even the electro-optical target identification sensor (TISEO) on the leading edge of the left inner wing, which was adopted in some late models, and the AN/ARN-101 antenna fairing on the back of the fuselage are flawless.

What are the characteristics of 1/48 F-4E Late “Missouri ANG”?

A 6-barreled 20mm Vulcan gun M61A1 is mounted on the underside of the nose as a fixed armament, and the gun sight is replaced with an ASG-26. As a measure against heat and vibration when firing the machine gun, the design of the bullet feeding system was changed, and the FCS was replaced with the small and vibration-resistant AN/APQ-120.
By converting to solid state and combining the entire FCS into one compact system, it was possible to store it in the narrow nose of the aircraft. With the SWS kit, the blast diffuser attached to the Vulcan muzzle of Block 45 and later models can also be selectively reproduced.
Please pay attention to the fairing shape, which looks simple at first glance, but is composed of a complex three-dimensional curved surface.

What are the F-4E's "wings" that give it even greater air combat performance?

The main wing differs depending on the development period, and the early model adopted a hard wing type with the inside of the main wing leading edge flap fixed like the J type. In later versions, the leading edge flap was changed to a movable slat in order to improve maneuverability during air combat.
Furthermore, some later models had TISEO installed on the leading edge of the inner wing of the left main wing. The F-4E's stabilizer was changed to a leading edge slot like the J model, and some aircraft had arrow-shaped reinforcing plates added to the top and bottom of the stabilizer.
