Product description
Fokker S.III was a two -seater biplane with relatively thick wings profile. It was powered by the Mercedes engine, built and flown in 1923. Remarkable is the exhaust of the Mercedes engine that looks like a chimney and it sometimes also blew smoke rings when the engine was running slowly. A total of 30 pieces were made for the Dutch Air Force. Two went to Denmark. One aircraft went to the USA where a Whirlwind engine got installed. They served from 1924 to 1938 in the Dutch AF, when they were replaced by other types (S-9).
