Product description

This is a complete kit that has been designed and produced using CAD and 3D printing. The kit comprises of 28 3D printed parts, plus the canopy that is clear cast polyurethane resin. A few additional parts will be included this will include a plain seat without printed seat harness, a instrument panel without dial details, and some spares for small or delicate parts.

The approximate kit dimensions are as follows: length 157mm and wing span 114mm

The kit is supplied with a set of laser printed decals. The decal are thin, work easily and have good opacity, and they DO NOT look all digitized or pixelated when applied.

The kit will need preparation by the modeler and the supports that are generated will require removing. This is easily done and as long as care is taken then they have been designed to be easily removed. The model will require either a super glue or an epoxy glue for assembly, however, I find PVA can also be suitable in certain areas and for trialing the fit and assembly before committing to the permanent glues. An instruction page will follow soon where more will be detailed.

The version being the 37" duct configuration with the auxiliary doors being present right behind the intake.

Additional information was gleaned from the superb Miles Aircraft books authored by Peter Amos published by Air Britain. Once again Joe Warner Cherrie.(Joe is in my opinion one of the leaders in knowledge and information on project types and what-if type subjects) has assisted with invaluable information and critique as I have progressed on the design, decal layout and more. It must be noted and confirmed that this is a PAPER PROJECT, so nobody has definitive information on what would have been the final outcome. However, I now believe this to be a good representation of the chosen version of the aircraft, based on the proposal by Miles Aircraft Company.

Comments have been raised on the serial numbers RT134 and RT 135 being applicable, as well as the possible use of U.52 being a possibility based on other period Miles aircraft, but once again no substantial proof is available, so do the model as per your interpretation.

The overall yellow proposed scheme will make an interesting option to the overall silver options. The silver scheme would more than likely be painted and polished airframe silver, but a varied and distinctive paneled model will look stunning. The choice is all yours.

In the pictures that are included please note the following.

  • There is the basic parts layout.
  • Clear canopy and mask is provided
  • Representative decals with 4 serial number options
  • Proposed colour profiles
  • Box art
  • Prototype build of all three scales that the model is available in, those being 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale.

The last picture shows a BONUS A4 poster that is included with each kit, note the poster is correct, the box label is incorrect, the fin flash is the wrong way around.
