From March 17 to May 6, 2017, 31 years after its last visit to North America, the Patrouille de France made another trip across the Atlantic to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War One.

The trip to North America included four refueling stops: Scotland - Iceland - Greenland - Canada.
The six-week tour featured 30 transit flights from the East Coast to the West Coast, 12 flight demonstrations at commemorative events and airshows, two meetings with the legendary U.S. presentation teams, the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels, and nine overflights of monuments and places of symbolic significance to the Franco-American relationship, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York.
The highlight of this tour was the participation of the Patrouille de France in the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into the war on April 6 in Kansas City, Kansas, which symbolized the enduring friendship and unwavering ties of kinship between the two countries.

The Franco-German Dassault-Breguet/Dornier Alpha Jet trainer is a twin- engine tandem t wo-seater easy and safe to pilot. I ts design is as simple and light as possible.
The performance and reliability of the Alpha Jet designated it as the replacement model for the Fouga Magister for the Patrouille de France French Air Force aerobatics
team as of 1981. The aircraft is perfectly suited for flight demonstrations because of its excellent flight characteristics and absence of dangerous reactions in spin and in stall and in transonic flight.
In total, 512 Alpha Jets were produced, of which 329 were exported, for ten Air Forces
