Product description
The Swiss Air Force procured 12 of the PC-6s equipped with a piston engine in 1966 (V-612 to V623). The aircraft were assigned transport, parachute jumper, reconnaissance, liaison and rescue tasks, where they performed their duties with great reliability for 14 years. In 1981, all military aircraft were equipped with the more powerful propeller turbines, i.e. converted to the PC-6 Turbo Porter with a longer engine cowling. Well over 500 units left the factory in Stans and were used all over the world, both for civilian and military purposes. Production was only discontinued in 2023.
