Rafale DQ - Qatar Emiri Air Force

The Rafale is an omnirole fighter aircraft, produced in both single-seat and two-seat versions. There are different models for the French Air and Space Force (FASF) and the French Navy, although they have very strong similarities.
The Rafale B is the two-seat version for the FASF. It has the same capabilities as the single-seat version, but accommodates a navigator- weapon systems operator in addition to the pilot. As the possibility of producing a two-seater version was considered during the early stages of design, the Rafale B was equipped with an identical airframe to that of the single-seater, including a fuselage of the same length.

The Rafale B is the single-seat version for the FASF. With an external payload capacity of 9,500kg, it can perform a wide range of missions that previously required specialized aircraft: air superiority and air defense, ground attack, nuclear deterrence, aerial reconnaissance, training, etc.
These capabilities have attracted several export customers. Already a user of Alpha Jets, Mirage F1s and Mirage 2000s, the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) has purchased 36 Rafales. The Qatari two-seater version is called Rafale DQ. These aircraft operate from the Tamim air base, as part of the "Al Adiyat" squadron.
