A precise battlefield support aircraft
The Junkers Ju 87 dive bomber was first flown in 1935 and quickly became one of the pillars of the Luftwaffe. Its greatest strength was its ability to carry out extremely precise dive attacks, making it an exceptionally effective support tool for ground troops.
The Ju 87 D-3 version belonged to the so-called "Dora series," an improved variant of the STUKA, adapted for intensive combat use. The aircraft received a reinforced structure, better crew protection and the ability to carry heavier armament. This version of the aircraft was widely used on the Eastern Front, where winter conditions required effective camouflage and a robust design.
