Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II F-4E variant, a USAF variant which featured an integrated M61 Vulcan cannon housed in the elongated nose of the RF-4C. It incorporated an AN/APQ-120 radar with a smaller cross-section to accommodate the cannon, and J79-GE-17 engines, each providing 17,900 lbf (79.379 kN) of afterburner thrust. In the later series, under the Agile Eagle program, leading-edge slats were added to enhance maneuverability, albeit at the expense of top speed. From Block 53 onwards, the aircraft gained AGM-65 Maverick capability, and smokeless J79-GE-17C or -17E engines were introduced. The maiden flight took place on 1 August 1965, and this variant stands as the most prolific Phantom version, with a total of 1,370 units built.
Update of the large Fine Molds McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II family with a new decal sheet with one marking the USAF Thunderbirds, the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron (aerobatic team) based in Nellis AB, Nevada. Kit also adds two bonus pilot figures.
