The book is the closest thing to the Official History of the Spitfire in Indian Air Force as it gets. It covers the history of the aircraft from its arrival in India in late 1942 to its service in the post independence Indian Air Force till its final retirement in 1956.
The Author is a serving IAF Officer and had made excellent use of his access to official records to provide a complete history of the Aircraft in IAF service. Profusely illustrated with hundreds of photographs, colour profiles and stories.
There is an extensive survivors section which was possible only with the help of Peter Arnold and his archive of photos.
