This book was issued on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the arrival of Czechoslovak fighter squadrons from Great Britain to their homeland.
Let's go back in time to the long-gone fate of Vickers Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk.IXe fighters, which have left a significant mark on the history of the Czechoslovak Air Force, and not only here. In the short post-war years, these excellent British aircraft formed the combat core of the Air Force, piloted at first by those who fought with them in the Royal Air Force, but also contributed to the start of the first generation of young fighters, trained at home. Against the background of the operation of these aircraft, with the main part of which arrived 75 years ago in the homeland of Czechoslovakia. fighters from Great Britain, reflects not only the building of the Air Force in peacetime, but also the descent of our country into the hands of a second and longer totalitarian power. Participation of Spitfires in air events in the country, a brief history of individual machines or export deliveries to the young state of Israel, and from there to Myanmar (Burma), these are topics offered by this work in a total of 11 chapters accompanied by more than 600 pictures.
Unfortunately in Czech but for the Spitfire affiniado it gives a lot of information as well as pictures never seen before
