Pacific Hell is a 116-page special magazine which looks in detail at the attack by Japanese carrier-borne aircraft on the U.S. Pacific Fleet base at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, an attack which stunned the world. It then moves on to look at how Japanese forces seized Wake Island, Guam and the British colony of Hong Kong before the end of 1941 and in the early months of the following year the Philippines, the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), Malaya, Singapore, and Burma also fell to the Japanese. Rather than seeking a peace deal the allies fought back with relentless determination after heavy and embarrassing defeats. Though the war in the Pacific would grind remorselessly on for another two terrible years, it was clear that there could only be one outcome – the utter defeat of Imperial Japan.
