Product description

The competition for the development and production of an elementary training aircraft of domestic design, which would replace the German equipment used so far, was probably announced by the Ministry of National Defense sometime in the first months of 1946. The assignment required a two-seater aircraft with seats behind each other, capable of full aerobatics even at maximum take-off weight, fully equipped both cockpits including instruments, and of course there was dual control including flap control from both cockpits. Hydraulic landing gear brakes, cockpit lighting, position lights and other equipment were also required. The aircraft was to be simple in production, capable of easy serial production. The engine was designed as a product of the Prague company Walter - Walter Minor 4-III with an output of 77 kW/105 HP, with which the aircraft was to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h, a cruising speed of 180 km/h and climb up to 3,500 m, with a climb rate of 13 minutes to 2000 m. The publication describes the development, comparison of competing types, introduction into service and service in the Czechoslovak Air Force, one of the most famous post-war aircraft at home and abroad. These machines, with their acrobatic versions, have enabled our pilots to win many titles at world competitions, including the title of World Champion in aerobatics
