The Bristol Beaufort is one of those aircraft that you think saw limited service during WW2 but in fact was operational almost from beginning to end! Always underpowered, with engines in the early days that were so unreliable that the type was grounded for a short period, the Beaufort and her crews nevertheless fought bravely across the globe from Northern Norway to the South Pacific.
In this book we’ve dug deep into our extensive photo collection and have tried to unravel the curious lumps and bumps that appear on some Beauforts but not others. Spanning five years of service, it’s important to identify the date of the photo to give the reader a clue as to why certain mods are carried or not. We hope all will become clear as you turn the pages.
In summary, this is a much needed book which corrects many common errors and highlights many things that are often overlooked or misunderstood by modellers and kit manufacturers.
