Product description

Daimler-Benz DB 605 A – Technical Description

The Daimler-Benz DB 605 A was one of the most important German aircraft engines of the Second World War and a direct evolution of the DB 601. With increased displacement, higher compression and improved performance, it powered aircraft such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109 while retaining the compact inverted V-12 layout.

Featuring direct fuel injection, a single-stage centrifugal compressor and mechanically driven auxiliary systems, the DB 605 A is defined by its exposed and highly characteristic internal structure — making it an ideal subject for a truly uncompromising scale reproduction.

This kit represents the DB 605 A as a stand-alone engine, independent of any specific aircraft kit. If a model manufacturer has adhered to original dimensions, the engine can be installed as a direct replacement in virtually all common 1/32 Messerschmitt kits, or displayed entirely on its own.

Daimler-Benz DB 605 A – High-Detail Stand-Alone Engine

Highly detailed stand-alone DB 605 A aircraft engine Designed as a direct replacement for 1/32  Messerschmitt kits Functional crankshaft in 1/32 scale Open or closed crankcase options Visible internal mechanics including crankshaft, pistons and gear train 63 individual parts Unique level of detail – not available as a serial product elsewhere

Developed for experienced modelers who want to elevate their build, their diorama, or display the engine as a stand-alone centerpiece.

Scope of Delivery – 63 Parts

2× Rocker Covers (RH / LH) Fuel Injector Pump with pipes and fuel injectors 7× sealing parts for inner walls Crankshaft + 1× small gear 6× single connecting rods + 6× upper parts 6× double connecting rods + 6× upper parts 12× pistons

Visible Assemblies and Design Features

The following assemblies are faithfully reproduced and clearly visible, as shown in the images:

Crankcase with open and closed cover options Fully detailed crankshaft assembly with single and double connecting rods and pistons Propeller shaft with reduction gear and auxiliary drive Fuel injection pump with pipes and individual injectors Compressor with intake manifold Gear casing and ancillary drive (“Apparatantrieb”) Centrifugal governor (Fliehkraftregler) Ignition circuit interrupter (Zündkreisunterbrecher) Cylinder heads and rocker covers (left and right)

The open crankcase option allows an unobstructed view into the engine interior. Even without moving parts, this internal visibility is already a milestone and opens entirely new possibilities for maintenance scenes, cutaway displays and highly realistic dioramas — with or without an aircraft.

Propeller shaft + 1× large gear Crankcase cover (open) Crankcase cover (closed) Crankcase (including ancillary drive, cylinder heads and crankshafts) Gear casing Compressor with intake manifold Centrifugal governor (Fliehkraftregler) Ignition circuit interrupter (Zündkreisunterbrecher) and many more

A Unique Offering

This is a one-of-a-kind engine kit. At this level of detail and technical depth, the DB 605 A is not available anywhere else as a serial product.

It allows:

a Messerschmitt build to be taken to an entirely new level dioramas to gain real mechanical depth and credibility or the engine to stand on its own as a display piece

This is not an accessory. It is a project.

This, and the detail included must be seen to be believed
